AC3D/FlightGear Coordinates

Here's a graphic you can use to convert from AC3D coordinates to FlightGear animation coordinates.  Email me if you'd like a copy of the higher res version.

F-4C Project

A FlightGear user told me his father flew the F-4 in TAC in the early 1960's, so I've started an F-4C project for that era.  It's in gray with early 60's insignia.  More work needs to be done on the livery, but it's flyable now.

Flightgear 3.2 updates

Three of my models, the prop-driven, carrier capable airplanes (Sea Fury, AD-4 and AD-6) were broken in Flightgear 3.2 because the holdback systems were using a property name that no longer exists.  These are fixed now.

I will also be going over all my airplanes and checking for FG 3.2 compatibility.  I don't expect any more issues.

Also, note that the CC license is now at version 4.0, so the link to Creative Commons has been edited to reflect this.

F-4E is "Bombable" ready (I think)

I've modified the F-4E to be "Bombable-ready", which is just a matter of making a few edits to the submodels and *-set XML files.  Assuming I did it right, the cannon and 6 bombs should work properly in "Bombable" scenarios.  For more information on this FlightGear add-on, see

http://wiki.flightgear.org/Bombable
http://wiki.flightgear.org/Howto:Adding ... r_Aircraft

I haven't tried the add-on myself, so the F-4E hasn't been tested.

edit:  Just tested it, and the bombs appear to work in the AI scenario.

Updates posted

I have a half day to do some model work!  I've updated most of my models with: new email address, transponder enabled, and glass shader.  The AD-4 and AD-6 also got a repaired holdback vector that now aligns better with the thrust vector.

Hangar Back Up

The hangar is back up at:  http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12562954/hangar/hangar.html  .  I'll be testing each model against FG 2.8 in order to certify them as compatible with that version.  So far all the models I've tried have worked (with a couple minor rendering issues).

These are the latest models I have, and may not be the latest I had when I shut down the hangar in November 2011.

Shutting down

I'm stopping my FG/JSBSim work for a while, maybe a long while.  I need a break and have lots of work coming up anyway, so I won't be posting anything here, and won't be updating models.  Grab them while you can because the hangar goes off the air in early December.

Moving soon

My ISP, cox cable, has decided to stop hosting their customer's websites, so the hangar will be moving when I can find a suitable replacement host.  Just as a backup here are links to the aircraft in the hangar:

B-377 HowTo

The latest version of the B-377 project contains some basic instructions for operating the airplane (see the howto.txt file). I'm still trying to fine tune the engine/prop/systems code, but the result is getting close to right.

Boeing B-377 conversion

I've started a conversion project of a Boeing 377 model originally made by Greg Pepper, et. al., and hosted at the great Cal Classic website. The model is brilliant, and I hope I can do it justice. It's far more detailed than a model I would make. Many thanks to Tom Gibson at Cal Classic for permitting the FlightGear/JSBSim conversion and CC re-license.

The exterior is mostly complete. Needed are: cowl flaps, texture-mapping of flaps, wing leading edges. The interior is barely begun, but it's going to look great once the textures are applied.

The model is flyable.
