In a Sabre Mood

I'm in the process of converting Detlef Faber's F-86 into a later model F-86F-25, the type with wing fences and no slats. The texture will be the 512th FDS livery, aircraft number 52-5350, as mentioned in a previous post about the Wings Palette web site. To help you get into the mood too, here's a film of the 526th FBS getting their new F-86's!

  1. So we'll be able to fly as the senior Culp aviator ?
Or you really mean 52-5350 and not 25-5350, which according to that skin is your dad's bird, hehe.

you should annotate the youtube movie with arrows pointing out 2nd Leftenant Culp.

Cheers, eager to check that one out.

  2. The leading digit was left off (a precurser to the Y2K problem?), so the tail has 25350.

The video was from a different squadron, but of the same era. Funny video, and I've had that stupid song stuck in my head for two days.

  4. The tune is the Hampster [sic] Dance, one of the first viral web phenomena. Annoying, isn't it?
